Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shankar is a Brit-American sitar player and music artist. She is the youngest female and also the first woman to be awarded a British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Shankar is a rising young star of the Indian sitar. She is a scholar and granddaughter of legendary Ravi Shankar. Born in London She spent her first few years of her life traveling between London and New Delhi. The first time she performed was on stage in New Delhi when she was thirteen years old. Then she moved to Encinitas CA, where she obtained the High School diploma with honors in 1999. Anouskha is an aspiring young lady, but she has a very impressive career in singing and recording. She performs regularly alongside her father and has done so for quite a number of years. In 1998, she released her first self-titled album Anourag. The Grammy Award-winning live at Carnegie Hall was released two years later than her first solo album. Apart from performing in all of the largest venues as well, she has a long stage career.
